CARILED hosted Local Government and Local Economic Development Symposiums in Jamaica and Belize on September 26 and 30, 2013 respectively. The one (1) day symposiums were open to local municipalities in each country, and outlined the role of local government elected officials as leaders of LED initiatives. The symposium showcased lessons from Belize, Canada and Jamaica, through Feature presenter, Councillor Michael Thompson of Toronto, Ontario Canada, and a round table discussion with Mayors Bradley (Belize City, Belize) and Ramsay (Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica) and Councillor Harold Usher of London, Ontario, Canada.
